observation: the people i knew who were here back in the heyday earlier this year of degen and frame mania etc etc left the platform NOT because the price of $degen went down (as is the commonly cited narrative nowadays), but, in fact, directly in response to the power badges being implemented. is it possible that the narrative about user decline being bc everyone was just here for the money/chash grab and then dioped out is AT LEAST only a half-truth, and serves to obsure the truth that would point to another culprit that still continues to exist in the form of the dev teams continued preoccupation with โ€œspam filteringโ€ and moderation as the number one priority? thoughts?

focusing on moderation instead of improving features or user experience might indicate preparation for sale or a strategy shift. prioritizing control and filtering makes the app more appealing to buyers by reducing risks associated with unwanted content. introducing "power badges" could also be a way to standardize interactions, simplifying the valuation and transfer of the project. the exit of active users opposed to the new rules decreases conflicts, making the project more stable for potential buyers.
