mom requested fresh homemade mango pies for mother's day this weekend so i'm brushing up on my skills this week. 

i make these every summer if we have enough fruit.

in a really good season, mango is the only thing on my menu: smoothies. ice cream. pies. bread. pickled. and ofc, plain old fresh cut fruit.

Your mom is so lucky! At what age did you start baking? If I want my girls to make me some homemade pies I guess I better start baking more.

i never really started baking, i just had so many mangos i needed to think of what to make with them!

i have a hard time with baking bc it’s so measured. i am more an ad hoc cook. a sprinkle of this here, a dollop of that there. 

your older girls are def ready to get in the kitchen with you. let them stir the muffin mix, that sorta thing!
