the first time I talked much with a Solana insider (formerly had a Foundation role), I was shocked, it was like they were coming from a completely different world...we were debating whether wallets should be open source shortly after one suffered a hack, and he just said businesses need a moat & was actually genuinely confused why I would say wallets should be open-source. . . it's just a different culture. . .

crypto is not monolithic, there is no "crypto industry": -->Bitcoin community is focused on anti-Fed currency debasement narrative (replacing state money) -->Ethereum community is focused on state-level-censorship-resistant compute and unbreachable agreements -->Solana community is focused on composability and eliminating info asymmetries for HFT of RWAs, with a side order of centralized consumer apps -->Ripple & most stablecoin operators are focused on [institutional or consumer] remittance
