My dad who has worked for the same company as a lead engineer for the last 30+ years lost his job today, exactly 1 year before he could retire.

Shit like this just reaffirms in my mind that people shouldn’t give the best years of their lives to some soulless company that doesn’t care. 

I certainly won’t do it.

Normalise treating companies the way companies treat people

I got a lot of heat during the pandemic coz I didn't care that the pubs were losing money because they don't care about me when I'm walking out the door gee eyed

The way we view an entity that makes money as somehow more worthy is a bit perveted
