The camera will record video for 2 seconds to capture more light, then stitch the photos together. This simulates long exposure from mechanical cameras.

Do you know the iPhone camera commercials from a few years ago advertising how well the phone does in dark lighting? That’s because of this feature. The is used to make dark photos brighter.
