Why did India attack Pakistan? Can someone provide context or sources to check that are neutral in language?

27 tourists were killed in Kashmir. This included a navy official and an air force official as well. Most of the tourists were made to drop their pants to check for circumcision. The Resistance Front claimed responsibility for this but it's a front for Lashkar e Taiba (responsible for the 7/11 Mumbai attack). The government has increased security for LeTs leader during this time. Attacks were pretty much concentrated on terrorist camps which did not directly involve the Pakistan Military.
