gating every single channel on farcaster was not the move imo. i don’t see how this leads towards growth

i understand having it as an option but i think the default should be public. it’s wild that i no longer have access to a channel like /farcaster and there’s no way for me to request joining. it feels like a continuation of the gatekeepy vibe that’s exists in much of the crypto space

I think the theory is exclusivity creates stronger community bonds & reduces spam. My hope is it attracts crypto communities that historically might have chosen discord since FC has better onchain integration & more benefits as it grows.
