Every time I left you, it was a lie,
a returnable void 
I hoped would find its way back to me,
so you wouldn’t have to make a choice.

Our world froze in the moment of goodbye—
where did it all go?
In which kiss, in which silence,
in which 'forever'
did distance take shape,
leaving our hands empty,
turning us into strangers,
with only a memory and the weight of regret?

Feeling wrong for having given everything,
without ever finding the courage to say it.
