TIL the equal sign didn’t exist till 1557 when Recorde, a welsh mathematician, invented it which not only means that the actual symbolic expression "2 + 2 = 4" didn't exist before but that – since he wrote it as long as "===" he foresaw javascript https://i.imgur.com/JO9TRZV.jpg
