Part 1: The Reality of NSFW Tagging on @rodeodotclub Censorship in the crypto/NFT space is always a sensitive topic, but Rodeo’s new NSFW tagging system isn’t about silencing artists - it’s about creating a space that respects all users. Unlike platforms like Instagram, Rodeo does not remove content, shadow-ban artists, or let an algorithm dictate visibility. Instead, it simply requires NSFW content to be tagged while giving users full control over whether they want to see it. This distinction is critical. Some members of the space might be underage or simply not interested in nude art. That’s where education and respect come in, ensuring that those who want to engage with NSFW art can, while those who don’t aren’t forced to. This isn’t censorship; it’s a functional, user-driven filter that helps maintain a balanced environment for all.

Part 3: My Perspective on Rodeo’s Approach Having been in the NFT space since 2021, I’ve seen how platforms evolve, especially when it comes to accessibility and visibility. My work has been collected at a high level, but I’ve also experimented with different approaches, including giving away pieces at a fraction of the price - something I explored with the South African platform Momint. That model has always intrigued me, particularly for work outside my more curated collections on Foundation and Exchange. Since joining @rodeodotclub, I’ve connected with new people who might eventually become collectors of my more curated pieces. Visibility and value are always topics of debate in this space, but for me, Rodeo has provided another avenue to engage, share, and build relationships.
