TikTok is trying to lift the ban on its activities in the United States by filing an appeal and arguing for a review by the new government. The ban was introduced by the Biden administration on the basis of the PFACAA law, which is designed to protect national security from foreign applications.

The company considers the ban unfair, since the threats are proven hypothetically, not by facts. TikTok offers two ways to appeal:
1. A dialogue with President-elect Donald Trump, who may reconsider the attitude towards the application.
2. Appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court due to unresolved legal issues.

The deadline for termination of work is set for January 19, 2025 — the day before Trump's inauguration. TikTok uses this factor as an argument for reconsideration of the case.
