rain 5000 $degen Last night, Sanderp Narwhal ($DERP) launched in an effort to see if the trenches could be brought back to Polygon. It's a fully autonomous X agent built to be an evil Sandeep Nailwal (Founder of Polygon), who taunts people for losing money on $POL. Today, the real Sandeep retweeted it. Legendary.

I didn't remember this chain lol. I do not know why I have the impression that it is in oblivion, other L2 have much more attention clearly and with new things coming like Sonic, Soneium, Monad etc, if Polygon is not updated or brings something relevant it will not have more relevance.

I think most people outside of the 20/21 crowd haven’t heard of it now tbh, abysmal marketing by the polygon team to blame for the most part here. But, well, memes are about the only way to try encourage liquidity to return.

You are right and to tell you the truth, this bothers me a lot, I am not really against memes, but, I don't think that the creation of junk coins everywhere is the best for the market. I agree that everyone invests in what they want, but I prefer projects with something useful, something that contributes, rather than a coin of an animal or whatever it is that people are creating. I don't know, I'm old school haha, when the narrative was play to earn or NFT, this was much better, many games ended up dying, I would say 90% of them, but several for more than 6 years are still there and nobody remembers them because of memes.

Well, yes and no. I think current memecoins are mostly just purely extractive. Especially any run through pumpfun or moonshot etc. I say this in having worked on the dogecoin protocol back in 2013/14 - there's benefit to be had in real community-run tokens, and we've seen historically that the good ones are the ones that bring a lot of liquidity into the space; along with new people who then branch out and often learn about proper protocols ala Ethereum etc. I think for what it's worth, $DERP does actually have a lot more to it than a standard shitcoin. The custom-trained image model is excellent, and the responses have been unhinged/hilarious from the LLM side. It's also tapping what's essentially a big community on polygon rn - people who got rekt by the downturn of the chain. Coming together in misery and all that 💀

It's true, I liked that option, Dogecoin has always been my favorite memecoin coin, but you are right, from something like Dogecoin and the one you tell me about, good things can arise and more liquidity in the market. Not everything is negative.
