Yep, I'm working on a static site syntax highlighter as a plugin for Pandoc (https://pandoc.org) and came across something that's a bit inconvenient for me, found an open issue from someone requesting the same thing I need, and it looks like a reasonable change to me so might as well try and get that PR out :)

Cool. Are you using it for anything yourself, or just trying to contribute to the project?
