The cryptocurrency market has been volatile today, with most assets seeing their prices fall. The total crypto market cap has fallen by about 10% to $2.76 trillion.
However, rumors of Donald Trump’s possible decision to eliminate capital gains tax for U.S.-based cryptocurrencies have created a wave of excitement among traders.
Leading market analyst Mike Alfred has claimed that Trump may announce the news at the White House’s cryptocurrency summit. Earlier, in January, Eric Trump hinted that U.S.-based cryptocurrencies, such as Ripple (XRP), would be exempt from capital gains tax, while projects outside the U.S. would be subject to a 30% tax.
