Really would like your feedback on this report about the $TRUMP meme coin. Basically, NBC News is reporting that Trump is using the coin to gain access to him and his inner circle, something that his critics say violates ethics rules and may be illegal. I’m new to the cryptocurrency world, but the journalist in me tells me this is new terrain for many ethics regulators and the Trump team is exploring this ignorance. What’s your take on this report? I’m looking for informed insights to help me understand what’s happening here. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna203071

you'll get a lot of varied opinions im sure, but at least some group of us here - 1) doesn't support trump, or his corruption pay-to-play regime, believes he's a huxter and a fraud, and 2) doesn't like memecoins, doesn't find them good or useful, doesn't want to see more of them that being said, i don't see much difference between the Trump memecoin and the Trump trading cards and the Trump commemorative gold coins and the Trump emails i get (im on his mailing list, it's good research) inviting me to donate for access to special mar a lago dinners, etc well there's one key difference - when it's onchain you can actually see the flow of funds and transaction histories, and most of us knew about the lopsided insider allocation before the token even launched. onchain fraud seems somewhat more, uh, fair, i guess, because it's at least theoretically possible to investigate.
