nah not really concerned with playing competitively at this phase, farming pumpkins is fun and low effort and it's fun to think what the gold might someday get used for, but i am not stressing the rankings or badges i do want that golden pumpkin tho

Valid. Who doesn't want a golden pumpkin? I just want to be one of the 15 players in the top 100 who just play the damn game as intended, rather than making alt accounts, donation cabals and whatever else folks do.

honestly it's a fascinating study on gaming and governance! even when the reward is as small as like $5 people still try to game the points... makes me kind of excited about worldcoin (or generally antisybil) honestly

💯 Have you checked out @holonym and Human.tech? Similar premise to worldcoin (using unique data like biometrics, ID info, etc. to prove humanity), but all your data is encrypted with your own keys and isn't revealed to shady Sam altman types who blatantly admit to using it for weapons, surveillance and censorship tech. I wish there was more adoption of these things. There are so many places where it would be game-changing in terms of sybil defence and general UX. I think these incentive games would be super powerful when combined with user data, like which accounts are bots/sybils, what clusters of non-sybil farmers exist (like carrot cabals, etc), and which people have typical, fun-maximizing play styles like pumpkin gooning, etc.. Seems like that would be a big unlock for devs looking to drive and incentivize the right type of traffic instead of relying on crude abstractions like DAU's and heuristics.
