There was a concern in 2020 during DeFi summer that DeFi tokens would accrue all the value and ETH wouldn't benefit from the growth of DeFi at all. Reality: ETH went from ~$400 to $4900 after DeFi summer ended and almost all DeFi tokens from back then are rekt against ETH.
