The devil is always on the detail, that’s what a designer I worked with always say. I’ve had some exchanges regarding TikTok ban here, I’ve kept the arguments on the basis of data privacy concerns which I consider high, while opposing arguments has been about the creators & small business earnings and how much they will lose. 

However, big picture is most of the profits of those earnings go back to subpar manufacturers in China. 

France has put legislation against Shein, to protect its local industries. 

in this article below the lack of regulation against the combination of tiktok/alibaba are putting the main legacy business in Indonesia  in retreat, so yes I support a tiktok ban. Or a sale in which case Frank McCourt gets my vote to decentralized TikTok
