Bird App blocking substack after they launch a direct competitor may be against the ethos of a free internet (which I’m all for) but it’s also the move of a rationale actor and would be expected in any other industry

Surely it would increase the value of discussions on Twitter if you can bring outside sources? Additionally Substack recently started a crowd equity campaign, perhaps Twitter should explore a buy out combining the two to create a truly next gen media business.

Twitter has a choke hold on distribution which equates to monopoly power. Ergo any reduction in content is worth the trade off Cf News Media’s failed attempts to get them to pay in the 2010s
