Iron count was pretty low. They wanted to give me a blood transfusion, but because of their low supply of blood, they decided to do the iron infusion instead.

damn. i have low iron caused anemia and i take iron almost daily, did you consider visiting a nutritionist? i bet daily iron supplements is easier and cheaper than blood or IV iron.

my intestines are also not very fond of iron

I have malabsorption issues, so some vitamins and supplements have to be in injection and or IV form. I've known for years, and sometimes I don't keep up with it when life gets busy and takes a toll on me.
