i mean it makes sense but most people i now around my age have not even started investing or nothing, it is still a small % of the populist that invest imo

I don't think bets/risk assets are because of the earnings, I think people want to live a lifestyle they can't afford. Everything has a price but nobody wants to pay their way up with work and time. It's so much easier to bet it up. 

Anyway, you're right when it comes to young people investing, but there's been a rise in carpe diem and you can see young folks spending on show and trips. 

At least in Brazil.
