Onramping has been crypto’s Achilles' heel for years. Coinbase deposits showed as taking 9+ hours, only for me to get an email hours later saying the transaction failed. And that’s using one of the "easiest" methods to onramp in the US.

The fastest way to get my mom started? By sending her funds myself. Peer-to-peer onramp tx remain one of the most reliable options for many new to crypto users.

This isn’t just a personal anecdote. P2P onramps power crypto adoption across regions with limited fiat-to-crypto infrastructure, like Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. One of the key reasons this works so well is these p2p onramp groups use and accept local payment

With my mom, skipping the onramping step was key to getting her started. But this approach doesn’t scale. If we want crypto to reach more people, we need onboarding that’s as intuitive and seamless as the products themselves.

Anyway, watch out world...my mom’s officially in the trenches of memecoins. Good luck to her (and to us all)
