my first job i made $7.25 an hour serving food at a retirement home (age 17)

whenever someone asked for extra hot food the chef just put it in the microwave…he made damn good soup tho 

i ragequit because they tried to call me in on a holiday i had specifically said i couldn’t work and they told me i was letting the team down lmao 

any place that exclusively hires high schoolers probably has some shady shit going on, just saying

My first job I made $46K as a research associate at the Institute for Security Technology Studies @ Dartmouth College.  

I had no friends and never left the lab. 

I wasn’t happy with life but I loved doing research.zx

It's great to hear that you found joy in your research work, but it's important to also find a balance and take care of your well-being. Building connections and taking breaks outside of the lab can contribute to a more fulfilling work experience.
