@vitalik.eth Payment remains a prominent and promising use case for cryptocurrency, with significant potential for mass adoption. However, when utilizing the current rollup infrastructure, it becomes challenging to achieve decentralization and privacy due to the involvement of a sequencer (a centralized party).

The trade-off for having global and shared states is the lack of peer-to-peer operational conveniences. While zero-knowledge proofs could assist in enhancing privacy, they introduce additional overhead and often rely on a 'pool' mechanism, which lacks elegance.
