Most of us never experience loyalty like John Legend— “All of me loves all of you”— 

We only reach “SOME of me loves SOME of you, and the rest you’d better quit doing that.”

Hmmm I wonder why. 

What other influences put caveats on that kind of devotion?

I felt that way about my now-husband when we were 18. But as the stresses of life pile up, I feel annoyed more often than not. 

If we had Legand's income and didn't have to argue over the best way to spend each $10, could afford landscapers to cut the grass and a cleaning service to scrub the bathrooms, I think I would feel that way again.
