Chapter 1: History

I’ve mentioned that my background is highly unconventional compared to many in our industry and my position didn’t even exist at @base when I was hired. I’m a trained archaeologist and a professional ceramic sculptor. So, I’m often asked how I fell in love with the Based Builder community and dedicated my life to building the global onchain economy with them.

It all makes sense when viewed from my perspective which is shaped by my insights as an archaeologist, years of studying how societies evolve, adapt, and innovate over time. Studying ancient civilizations reveals one consistent truth: societies that fail to adapt to new paradigms collapse under their own rigidity. As Lao Tzu said, “The hard and stiff will be broken, the soft and supple will prevail.”

This really resonates with me, I'm a creative with a Law degree. I always knew the legal world wasn't for me with my free spirited mindset. I joined the web3 space in 2021 when i finally understood that this was the perfect space for me @base has always been really inclusive, welcoming and affordable. 💙💙💙 Thanks for being there for us 🙏🏽
