Just been using the new Wikit app for Android. I must say that I love their approach to moderation and decentralisation, however the user experience and design language/philosophy is antiquated and ugly. I am worried that protocols like Wikit will be too ugly and confusing and that will push people towards Insta/Meta

I'm actually really intrigued by Instagram threads and how it's going to be built on the same protocols as Mastodon. The Vergecast did a really good episode on it last weekend. Will definitely be using both alongside Farcaster

4/ it's also quite amusing to me that this was all kick-started by Twitter and Reddit undergoing a massive overhaul in the last 9 months with regards to how users are treated and valued. Now it seems that decentralisation is in, and we're going back to the way the internet was before, with instances verses platforms

5/5 I think that as long as you can reasonably control scientific misinformation and hate speech, your corner of the internet and the subsequent protocols will flourish

Algos may be used incorrectly now, but in regards to "censorship" it's much preferable to a perceived human bias

I do think that Eth is a defacto standard for connecting accounts/instances across multiple social graphs/protocols, however provided it's built on open source tech, people have the freedom to choose what they use and add to their instances/corner of the internet
