High Frequency Trading activity has really picked up on blockchains over the past couple years. Primarily on chains like Solana, Base, and Binance Smart Chain but does still happen on Ethereum too. Total HFT by number of trades is around 65m compared to the total of ~195m. The volume however, especially on Solana shows how dominate it is - Solana HFT volume was ~$108B out of ~$222B total trade volume on all trades.
