There are not many remnants of natural vegetation in Shanghai, and most of them are artificially cultivated crops and trees. The natural woody plant community is only distributed in local areas such as Dajinshan Island and Sheshan, and the natural herbaceous plant community is distributed in sandbanks, tidal flats and harbors. There are more than 100 kinds of crops cultivated and nearly 10,000 varieties. There are more than 400 kinds of vegetables, ranking first in the country, and there are many varieties of melons, fruits and ornamental flowers.
