Gave up on switching to Spotify for podcasts. Having a common queue for music + podcasts just doesn't work for my listening habits (I usually finish podcasts over 3-5 listening sessions, but listen to a lot more music in-between). Google Podcasts may have some bugs, but it's nice and clean.

As someone that worked on a podcast app can i suggest https://pocketcasts.com... in my opinion it's got great design, and all the appropriate features required.

One more for the hard sell... there are desktop apps, and a web app all with syncing so you can move from place to place and keep listening.

And ...i fully agree... you should NOT be listening to podcasts on spotify. Yes, it's convenient, but hard agree, the fact that they don't have discrete queues for listening to music vs. listening to podcasts is troubling.
