To give you an idea of how fucked the Canadian carbon tax is, adding to our already corrupt energy sector: 

I’m currently paying more in carbon taxes than I am for the actual natural gas I used 

and the actual energy used is less than 1/4 the total bill

The rest are fees and taxes

Some aspects aren’t to bad. Don’t have to worry about medical debt and stuff like that.

But shit like this makes it harder than it needs to be for sure. I live in one of the cheaper parts of the country too
