I totally forgot that it's different in US and some european countries 

I grew up in russia and summer is june 1 - august 31, september 1 is the first day of autumn and the first day of school year

it has nothing to do with US or other countries. it's a natural phenomena and only has to do with earth's spin axis tilting in relation to its orbital plane. 

maybe those are summer holiday and first day of school you're referring to. but the season is universal.

No, some countries are following meteorological seasonal system. summer in Russia is defined by those exact dates. Another example -  Australia. summer is December 1 - February 28

in fairness, I think it’s the only two countries that do this and I just happened to live in both of them 😂
