I’ve a few FC chats in telegram:

- location, e.g. /paris 
- specific events  
- related to projects, e.g. @super

how does it differentiate from the channels? 

privacy is the one that comes to mind for me, also getting notified about everypost?

though TG has Image sending in messages :D

chat: selective, quick action (report, organize, ask) 
channel: public, more thoughtful content 

telegram itself has channels and chats :)
