Not all generative art is code. There are mechanical ways to generate art. Some sort of algorithm or gear mechanism can be used. Sometimes inputs from the environment are used and sometimes in combination with randomness or entropy or just pure randomness

Big fan of Vera. But getting back to the original question, in your examples there’s some form of algorithm in the base. I would count understanding of at least simple algorithm as basics too.

The speaker drawing is more of a random generation. No one wrote an algorithm unless you consider the sound the speaker made an algorithm
