Humans struggle to imagine exponential growth. The inability of politicians to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic was a great example - despite the epidemiologists jumping up and down in front of them with the data.

I see a similar phenomenon occurring in the ethereum ecosystem. Our linear smooth brains worry about the blob market and debate saturation at a 2-3x increase in activity.

Before too long we’ll be back to pestering @dankrad for more progress on sharding and worrying that the next wave of users came too soon for us to handle. There are never enough masks, or hospital beds.

Network effects are best modelled like viruses. @cdixon.eth 
makes this point well in his book (worth buying). A successful Ethereum will see 10-100x growth txn volume in short order. Yes, we need a few killer apps - but we’ve created very fertile conditions for this virus to grow.

Transactions are very cheap across the ecosystem. There are tons of solidity developers. And they don’t need to worry about optimisations. Account abstraction is on the horizon. New L2s are popping up all over the place.
