The reason for the criticism was an interview that the MicroStrategy founder gave to the Markets with Madison podcast. In it, Saylor literally promoted the concept of government regulation and storing bitcoin in organizational accounts, rather than in personal wallets. He called the community that defends censorship resistance positions “paranoid crypto-anarchists.”
