Is it supposed to be only non-fiction? Well for me it was 'Four Winds' by Kristin Hannah, it's focused on Elsa, who survived a set of non loving family, her husband leaving her and then her doing all the jobs to fulfill family's needs during the great depression. This gave me a push to keep looking at light throughout.
