More than 60% of US federal spending is now deemed as "mandatory." This is more than 2x the amount deemed as mandatory in the 1960s!

The language used “mandatory” preempts a different discussion than “Entitlement spending” Doesn’t matter because the political will isn’t there to touch it- the elderly vote consistently. Path of political least resistance is debasement of currency. Everyone gets their SS unadjusted for inflation 🧠
