One thing I learned at ZKP.NYC today—if you want to use ZKPs in real-world use cases, you need the broader ecosystem to be developed enough to do so. ZKPs for elections is a common "thought piece" use case, but the reality of implementing it shows there are human behavior and tech challenges: 1/

ZKP is already used in some national level voting systems, in conjunction with homomorphic encryption. Estonia uses ZKs for proof of tally--but you need a source of data. Estonia can do it because they have DID 2/

There are some municipalities in Canada that use ZKPs to prove that their vote was included in the total–but in some of those municipalities, not a single person checked; in others, there were human behavior/education and expectation issues (i.e. "now I have to check that my vote is counted?") 3/
