Avoid idle time so chop wood before bed and harvest food during the day. Try to
Minimise the amount of wood you leave sitting around, it’ll get pinched. Worth the extra $fire to speed up wood chopping when you’re just shy of a hut rather than risk losing a stockpile.

Also smash out as many huts as you can at lower levels, you can always fill them latter. At higher levels the burden of feeding your people makes it harder to spend time chopping.

Also live in Australia so you peacefully harvest and chop while everyone else is asleep. 😴
