How do people feel about the fragmentation of the Ethereum social layer occurring between here and Twitter? It's not ideal that Ethereum is now less represented on Twitter by all the bright minds that have moved here. At the same time, I want to see novel apps like this take off. It's a tough one...

Long term the Ethereum social layer has to exist on a permissionless decentralised protocol. If the Ethereum vision is maximally successful and becomes an important piece of global infrastructure, we can’t allow the social layer to exist on a platform where it can be manipulated by a single actor. 1

The social layer exisiting on legacy social media entails additional risk for the protocol and is not in the spirit of Ethereum. Arguably it’s good for the community too, a refresh. Legacy influencers have an advantage building a following here, but it also provides an opportunity for fresh voices to arise. 2
