Schönborn Castle, or Beregvar, is one of the most beautiful places in Transcarpathia. We visited it in early spring, when it was still cool throughout Ukraine and the buds were just beginning to swell, but here it was already warm, and we even took off our jackets.
The castle, built in the neo-Gothic style with Renaissance elements, looks like a frame from an old film: red tiled roofs, graceful turrets, arched windows.
It was once a hunting residence of the Counts Schönborn, and since 1946 – the Karpaty sanatorium, but the spirit of ancient architecture is still felt in every corner. This place is definitely worth a visit! 15 replies
