According to Bloomberg, SEC Commissioner Jaime Lizarlaga, who previously served as a congressional assistant and helped drive reporting requirements for businesses on climate risk and data breaches while regulating Wall Street, plans to resign on January 17th. On the day before Lizarlaga announced this decision, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler stated that he plans to resign on January 20th. Bloomberg reported that after President elect Donald Trump returns to the White House, Caroline Crenshaw will become the only Democrat on the SEC's five member committee, serving alongside Republicans Hester Peirce and Mark Uyeda. @ewright
