Good art doesn’t require skill but good performance needs both art and skill. Early on, I over-indexed heavily on skill. Now I just want there to be art.

Identifying depths is hard. I can remember a couple of debates where we were talking past each other. Perhaps this is different but orthogonal planes of depth? Any mental model to suggest who is “deeper”? Or is it on the deeper person to get shallower and if they can’t … they’re not deep?

Near perfect articulation of why life is not necessarily easier now than a century ago. Way more people have the means of achieving their dreams and are feeling the weight of responsiblity. https://x.com/visakanv/status/1108823903248351232?s=46&t=-fegF_8fr4RvSNt4T-LIFg

What a truly radical idea - a devotee with no established god. Devoted to the human condition … following for the revelations you are sure to behold.

This is a tough one. If I’m completely against something then yeah, won’t build it but often times it’s intriguing enough with good people trying to do the right thing and I’d probably help out if needed.

If you make it out to Valparaiso, the street art is incredible (several good walking tours) and I know an awesome house to stay in that was built in the 30s.

I loved the large maps on the museum as well as the inkan knots exhibit. Apart from that … there’s a vault that’s temperature controlled with a bunch of prehistoric weaving examples that’s pretty cool.
