Re: Uncuts Ups & Downs | The State Of Things [1/4] July was an extremely tough month for us. A part of a team was fired since we could not afford to pay salaries, and we ran out of money even to pay for infrastructure. The primary problem was our April mistake with smart contracts and the decision to refund 75% of our future earnings. It’s clear, we gave away a huge chunk of what we were made, the rest we spent only on service providers and the infra. There were no funds for scaling. But that wasn’t the only problem. After seeing the behavior of our users, and competitors’ users we finally got that the Uncuts concept has no PMF (product-market-fit). Our monthly burn rate excluding salaries is almost $2k. It includes Privy, Neynar, Pimlico, Subabase, Vercel → Hetzner, etc. Despite we are still optimizing our infra needs and migrating from some of these services, we struggle to afford these expenses. [3/4] There is no time for excuses. So, here’s what we did and our next steps: - we got approval for a grant to afford to pay for infra (I’ll ask if I can disclosure that thing before the official announcement); - we definitely will go beyond the Farcaster ecosystem. There is no sense in staying only here when we extremely limit ourselves to the upside; - we will completely rebuild our app and change the entire concept; - we are seeking community support. First, we need to understand how many of you are still with us. Then, we will launch a Party/Zora NFT sale for the sake of a little chunk of money for operations. Plus, to stick with those, who want to stay/be with us; - as I mentioned a couple of times before, we are going to launch our own token. The chance of it is 99%. More details I’ll drop later.

[2/4] So, currently, we face 3 problems: - refunds totally killed us and we still have to do that; - the current model has no PMF; - we cannot afford to pay bills. Sounds pretty boring and not promising, I understand. But we cannot give up since we put our souls into Uncuts. Check the next post below 👇

I support you uncuts in your challenge! But to be honest, don't know if I will be able to participate in the new NFT sale. I have already used a good amount of money and time in it. I'm not asking for my money back! To be honest, I was wondering about the refunds too. But I hope that when we do well in the end, you will also remember the contribution we have made so far.

I had fun with uncuts, but it's a pity that the company's situation has become difficult. I guessed when the server stopped at some point and it didn't work, but I don't feel good when I see the article like this. I hope you overcome the difficult situation well.
