It’s notable that both the new Pope and the new Romanian President are both mathematicians by training. Leo XIV holds a BSc in mathematics, and Nicușor Dan is a gold medalist at the International Mathematics Olympiad, which is a pretty significant achievement

That’s great! I remember some of my high school mates going to the Olympiad coming top! I’m not a very good mathematician
