The article explores traditional approaches to module security and why there is greater need for security as the space scales and module devs are no longer the same people as application devs.

Then, it explores general security pitfalls for modules and accounts on a high level.

This paves the way to highlight the two main approaches that have been explored so far: attestation registries and module permissioning systems.

Based on the security pitfalls highlighted above, the approaches are compared and contrasted.

Finally, the article explains how security is handled by modular account standards, evaluates these approaches and attempts to clear up some misconceptions.
