True or False? Having constant, unlimited access to music through streaming platforms like Spotify can make it feel less special or meaningful. If true, do you think owning music on Web3 platforms can strengthen your personal connection to the artist and their songs?

Abundance creates more value for scarce things at the end of the day (more copies of Mona Lisa, greatest "aura" of the original). Everything depends on the IRL stories imho, NFT marks an immutable checkpoint, "owning the song" isn't the most valuable part. For example : https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/wu-tang-nft-album-once-upon-time-shaolin-1244859/

Wasn’t this kind of a flop though? Got a lot of buzz but at the end of the day no one really cared. Imo it showed that stories are good for getting media attention. But the market is looking for something different

I wouldn't say that no one really cared ^^ more than 20k wallets bought the NFT https://opensea.io/collection/the-album/activity But wha "what happened next"? https://www.wired.com/story/martin-shkreli-wu-tang-album-copies/ This is real world concerns, real problems to solve. Never saw a single post about this story around here. Even if the drop happened on Base 😶

You see this, I saw 300k NFT minted for $1/each check the drop date, read the article :) then explain me how "Web3" can fix this

lol 300k minted followed by .15 ETH total volume is a sign there was initially some buzz and then people stopped caring, just like I said I’m very familiar with what happened afterwards with Shrekli. Yes you’re right that there are real world problems. But that’s part of the fundamental problem with this idea. Look I think it’s a good thing that they tried something different, but paying $4M for something and then getting those numbers is a flop. At the end of the day they took a big swing and it didn’t work out. In other words, there is not product market fit for this use case. It created some initial buzz, but this is ultimately not what the market is looking for
