What are the benefits of a game-specific token?

The only reason I can currently think of is immersion - I'd rather see WoW gold instead of ETH

if the market structure of the game isn't the market structure of a native L1 token, it could complicate things a bit because you won't be able to change the mechanics of a L1 token ^^
