Sometimes believing in Ethereum can hurt... a lot 😰 Take James Fickel, for example. In just six months, he’s down 18,000 ETH ($43.7M) from trying to long the ETH/BTC pair 📉. From January 10 to July 1, he borrowed 3,061 WBTC ($172M) and swapped it for 56,445 ETH at a rate of 0.05424 ETH/BTC. By August 7, he had spent $12M USDC to buy 211 WBTC and swapped 16,000 ETH for 671 WBTC at 0.042 ETH/BTC, trying to cover his debt on AAVE. Currently, he’s sitting on a total debt of 2,196 WBTC ($132M) on AAVE, with total losses stacking up to a staggering $43.7M.
